I really appreciate your breakdown of all this, Elizabeth. I’m pondering some of these more now. Numbers 9 & 10 on your Lenten Fast realizations really struck home for me. Good thoughts on the analog life, too--I prefer writing with pen and paper first, too, though I’ll leave the sewing to my daughter, Evie. It has not, and I doubt ever will be, a relaxing, rewarding practice for me!

Sewing wasn't a relaxing or rewarding practice for me until just a few years ago. I hated sewing and found it frustrating, especially hemming. Then I realized pretty much all my store bought clothes had serged hems and weren't as "perfectly" sewn as I thought, so I got a serger and that was the game changer. That said, there are plenty of things I leave to other people! There's no guilt here, just grace and peace. (And don't look too closely or you'll see that my sewing standards leave something to be desired. 😂)

I love watching other people sew 😁. Ev’s been altering and designing some new pieces from clothes that are too worn to wear as-is now. It’s amazing to see her creativity.

I think I’ll stick with words and making dinner ☺️.

Thanks for the meditations, Mom! They are beautiful. The "going back to what we know" is something I'm definitely struggling with, too.
